The next Riftbound set, Unleashed, is coming, and with it arrives a carefully structured sequence of dates, products, and organized play windows designed to ensure no one is surprised — except perhaps by what’s inside the booster packs.
Published by UVS Games, Unleashed continues the steady expansion of the Riftbound TCG line with new champions, new sealed play opportunities, and a clear roadmap for stores that prefer their hype scheduled in advance.
Let’s break it down.
The Dates You Actually Need to Know
There are four operationally important milestones:
- Event Scheduling Opens: January 19, 2026
- Event Scheduling Closes: March 14, 2026
- Distributor Changes Deadline: March 14, 2026
- Official Release Date: May 8, 2026
The Event Structure: A Reason to Leave the House
Unleashed isn’t launching quietly. It arrives with a tiered event schedule designed to ramp up engagement without exhausting everyone immediately.
Pre-Rift Events
May 1 – May 7
These sealed-format events give players early access to the new set. They are beginner-friendly, meaning you can show up without memorizing the entire card pool and still leave with dignity intact.
For stores, this is the ideal entry event: low barrier, high interest, and a built-in excuse to open product.
Summoner Skirmish – Month 1
May 25 – June 21
Constructed format. Decks get serious. People start using phrases like “optimal line.” The meta begins to form.
Summoner Skirmish – Month 2
June 22 – July 19
The continuation of competitive play. By this point, the community has opinions. Some of them may even be correct.
What’s in the Set?
Beyond the calendar logistics, Unleashed introduces meaningful product additions to the Riftbound ecosystem.
New Champion Decks
Two preconstructed 56-card decks enter the lineup:

These are designed to be accessible without being simplistic — playable out of the box, but flexible enough to upgrade. Ideal for onboarding new players or for veterans who enjoy winning with something that required minimal assembly.
A new SKU aimed squarely at entry-level players and tidy storage enthusiasts.
Inside:
- 6 Unleashed Booster Packs
- 36 Runes
- 3 Full-Art Tokens
- 2 Punch-Out Dividers
- Storage Box
It’s effectively a “start here” bundle that removes the guesswork from joining the game. Open it, sort it, pretend you planned it.

The main booster release includes:
- 220+ cards
- 30+ alternate-art variants
That means collectors get something to chase, competitive players get something to debate, and everyone gets at least one card they are certain was designed specifically to counter their deck.

Why This Release Matters
Unleashed isn’t just another expansion. It’s structured to support sustained play over multiple months rather than a single launch weekend spike. Pre-release sealed events bring in new players. Skirmish months keep experienced ones engaged. Product variety lowers the barrier to entry.
It’s orderly. It’s intentional. It’s, appropriately enough, unleashed in a very controlled manner.
If you’re a competitive player, the grind window is clear.
If you’re a collector, your binder is not ready.
Release day is May 8, 2026. Schedule accordingly.
