Two pretty big launches this Friday the 31st for superhero fans.
The second series of the critically acclaimed “Batman : The Caped Crusader” debuts on Prime. The first series had well known comic writers (Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka, Marc Bernadin) working on episodes of the series. It has a pared back, art deco retro feel with stylistic interpretations of Bat villains and supporting characters. It has a similar animation style to the classic “Batman : The Animated series” of the 90s, but with an even more gritty noir edge.
The first series was great. Proper crime thriller Batman. Recommended. I can't see why the second series won't be as good.
Sadly, at TGC Collectables and the Game Collection we’re not currently carrying any stock related to the animated series, but we do have other and plenty of other bat related stock for you to splash your hard earned on.
On the big screen, is the latest instalment in the seemingly endless MCU saga.
“Spiderman Brand New Day” hits cinemas on Friday, the running time is verging on the backside numbing, 2 ½ hours, so take a cushion.
At the end of “Spider Man : No Way Home”, we left Peter Parker, lonely, with no family or friends and in a world that no longer knows his name. “BND” takes its name from the storyline following the infamous J Michael Straczynski / Joe Quesada Spidey comic reboot “One More Day”.
Marvel had forgotten Stan Lee’s 70s tenet of “no change, just the illusion of change”. “OMD” was Marvel’s attempt at stripping away some of the baggage that Spidey had gathered in his then 45 year long publication “career” and return him back to basics

In much the same way as the films have (and the films have taken direct inspiration from comic storylines), they tried to put the genie back into the bottle, Peter had made a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May from death, but the price was strip away Peter’s marriage / relationship to Mary Jane Watson and make his identity a secret again.

These movies have been great fun, and I think they’ve maintained their quality when some recent MCU films have been a bit “meh” (at best). This one looks promising with appearances from Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Banner, Jon Berthnal’s Punisher (best screen Punisher by far) and most exciting for this Daredevil geek an appearance by the ninja clan, the Hand.
