The Gundam Card Game continues to be a strong force in the busy TCG world, with its third full expansion, Steel Requiem, releasing on January 30th.
This set primarily focuses on expanding upon what's already been introduced, adding new cards that should work in existing decks and from series that are already represented, like the forever popular Zeta Gundam, Gundam SEED, and Iron Blooded Orphans.
There are first time appearances too, with main expansion representation for Gundam 00, War in the Pocket, and Hathaway's Flash! It seems like every existing deck and playstyle is recieving some kind of buff in this expansion, or at the very least has new toys to play with.
Some Highlights
The Gundam 00 universe was only added to the game with a recent starter deck, and now has some new cards to mix in. I've seen excitement for the Level 2 Cost 1 0 Gundam, for it's good stats at a low cost.
The mascot of the set, Gundam Exia, also originates from this series!
Universal Century decks have been popular for the game's whole run, especially decks built around Zeon cards. These have gotten a lot of new updates, as will likely happen with any expansion to this game.
From the War in the Pocket short series, the Zeon Cyclops Team are all represented as their own trait!
On the other end of this conflict, the Gundam NT-1 has also been introduced to the game, with two variants.
Also from this timeline, the Titans have recieved significantly more cards. Their signature Hizacks, the final boss The-O, and a strong selection inbetween!
I'm personally hoping to see a Gaplant card someday!
