Who doesn’t like first issues or first appearances of favourite characters?
Mad people, that’s who. If you are a fan or collector there is nothing like the feeling of getting in on the ground level, that debut of a fan favourite character, or the first issue of what may turn out to be a classic creative team. Everyone and everything has to start somewhere, and these types of comics can be landmark issues, highly collectable and historically significant (in comic terms anyway, maybe not in the wider scope of human development - but have you read Assorted Crisis Events?).
They can, of course, also be very valuable.

From 6pm on the 15th, Zenith Collect will launch it’s first debut issue comic auction on eBay.

Zenith Collect will be listing a series of comics that are the debuts of some kind or other, maybe it’s the first issue of a line wide relaunch, or of a new title in an existing top selling line that may have shaken up the comics industry, or the first appearance of fan favourite character or superhero team.

Some will be slabbed, others will be raw, from a range of publishers, featuring a slew of different characters, but all of them collectable from the last 40 years of comics.
Speaking of debuts, Zenith Collect also has a selection of NES “Black Box” games up for auction.

Black Box is the blanket term for the early release games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, with the distinctive trade dress and box design. These are examples of the first wave of games that came with the incredibly successful 3rd generation console that rose out of the video game crash of the early 80s and revitalised the market. The humble NES became as ubiquitous as the video cassette recorder (ask your parents) in US homes.

On offer are a selection of prints, raw and graded, from early in the production run to well into the NES’s life. Early prints copies in mint or near mint condition now fetch thousands and are becoming increasingly rare and prices are skyrocketing as demand increases and supply dries up as collectors and investors hoard.
Finally, bringing us into this century (if not this decade) there is a selection of 7th generation console games, still sealed, on offer. So, if you like yours truly you have an X Box 360 or Wii still kicking around, or even a PS3, then there is a selection of games available in the current auction. Ideal for those who are looking to complete their collection, or for those looking for some retro thrills but don’t want to go that far back.

These are just a small selection of the items that Zenith Collect currently has in stock. Follow Zenith Collect for more cool collectables and bargains. New auctions every Sunday at 6pm
