Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration!

A big reveal yesterday, we finally have more information on the 30th anniversary set that was teased for this summer, Pokemon 30th Celebration. Here are some things to note.

Every card is foil

While we haven't seen any cards in real life yet, The Pokemon Company claims that every card in the set will at least standard foil, a cool reward for regular collectors and fans!

The future of rares

The expansion will introduce a new type of rarity, Futuristic Rares. These feature a brand new type of visuals to the series with a shiny, colourful, metallic look.

Additionally, the Pikachu icon which features on every card in the set has alternate colours here! I wonder what Red, Green, and Blue could possibly reference.

Favourites Return

This selection will likely include even more Pikachus. The set will feature reprints of popular cards from the game's history! Their legality is the same as the card that they're based on, possibly making them cool for playing classic formats (as long as the price and rarity isn't too inaccessible).
